The Goodfellows

An elite force of guards, the Goodfellows travel the Waste alongside their fey master, protecting him from the evils of the Waste. However, they choose an unusual method of traveling the Waste, refusing to use railtrains due to their sensitivity to the raw, unnatural magic produced by white coal. Instead, they follow Oberon, King of the Fairies, on the backs of sandmounts and other creatures of the Waste, strangely untouched by the land's burrowing monsters.

Composition

Equipment

The Goodfellows are obviously equipped with powerful firearms, as would be expected from any respectable guard force. Nothing more advanced than the standard fare, but still quite capable of putting a bullet through someone's skull. Their most notable weapons are not their actual weapons, as much as their powerful fey magic, granted by their leader. They dress in light, bright green clothing, which they conceal much of their bodies with. This is because, being fey, they are much more susceptible to white warp, so much so that the smoky air of the Waste is enough to affect them.

Vehicles

The Goodfellows ride the Waste on the backs of a number of different Wastern beasts. Primarily, however, they ride sandmounts and dust bunnies. Oberon himself, however, has a far more impressive mount. He carries himself on the back of a tamed sand dragon, called Robin. These beasts are as feytouched as their riders, some possessing curling antlers, others with barklike skin or moss growing on them.

Structure

The Goodfellows are commanded by the fey king Oberon. He claims that he was once a mighty king, ruler of the Waste. However, this was before the Waste was in its current state, and he has since fallen from power. He now roams the land his once ruled, alongside his loyal followers, the Goodfellows, faithful mortals that he has blessed with fey power. Homeless and always on the run from that which claimed the Waste, and one day will claim him.
