The Black Books of Knowledge

"Knowledge. We, elves, are always in research of knowledge for the science, for the magic, but mostly for philosophy. So when we heard about books containing the secret of the past, we had to find and read them. The Black Books are nine in number and have unique properties, unique materials and are all different from each other. They transcribe the past daily life, in the ere where the Ancestors still trod the soil of Anathema. The Black Books are so called because they are proscribed by most institutions because they have the reputation to make those who read them completely crazy, some even committed suicide. One day, Erendel Heiyra, one of the greatest elves, and one of the oldest, sacrificed himself to read one of his books in order to be able to transmit the content of the book to his people. When he opened it, he discovered a kind of novel with a title: "Memory of Anathema: Volume 3". But when he began to read, his facial expression changed and he became pale. He closed the book and said, "This book tells the story of the world before, but it's not a simple historical collection, it's the truth, it's the end of the world." He was found hanged the next day."
