Commander France (a.k.a. The Evil Tyrant)

Former Prince of Rande, France is the chief of O.N.U. soldiers. He is also the vice-prince which means that he is in charge of the Principalty when there is no ruler. He is an aristocrat and a vampire. He is an ancient member of the royal family of Rande, he has more than 1500 years old. France is not his real name.

The 7th Prince

Royalty and wine were totally his style, and art, of course. He was courtly and kind. He was aware of the relations between all the races under his governance. His reigns took place during the middle of the Depression. He had a son, Aiden, and a daughter, Catherine. It ended when the inhabitants of Rande wanted to take part to the war and began a popular revolution led by his son Aiden. They attacked Agares, the capital of Rande, and killed France at the age of 52 but the revolution ended with the coronation of his son Aiden and the establishment of the Republic of Rande. But he woke up 24 years later as a vampire.

A revolutionary vampire

The monarch's reign is supreme but he was detitute, but then the vampire nobility was stronger than ever. He confronted Aiden and asked for an apology. Aiden refused so France threatened him:

"If you lead our people in this war, I will be one of your opponents."

But he didn't knew that Rande was already at war with the Theocracy of Homeca. When he discovered it, he raised an army composed of his own faithful and attacked the army of Rande. He did not really attacked them, he blocked the army at the Wall of Rande. He tried to intimidate the soldiers by using his vampire powers because he didn't wanted to hurt people. Unfortunately, his strategy didn't work on Aiden who forced his army to charge on the France army. Many persons died.
The Gregory members stepped in the conflict but France refused their help, it was his duty as a father to teach a lesson to his son. He walked to Agares and began a second revolution known as The French Revolution. He was forced to kill Aiden and then he took back the power. After that he stopped the hostilities againt Homeca and signed with the aid of Azazel a Non-agression pact.

A tyran aristocrat

With all the ground covered in blood, he began to hates revolutions, uprisings, equality and "power of the people". He believes that democracy is just a big lie, that other Aiden used to fool their citizens and make them more obedient. He prefers the old-fashioned way, and there will be no " freedom and equality" under his rule, until people will grow enough to deserve it.

"First, they need to understand how low they have fallen, and destructive it would be to give them any power in their current state. And when that happens, well, we shall see."

This is his great compassion as an old and wizened ruler.
With 5 years of tyrannic reign, he taught to the people that they have a power on Anathema and that they don't have to waste it. He taught them how to be patient. He was rude but just. He released the pressure on the country but maintained the order, after he calmed the war fever.

Prince to wanderer

He gives up the power to his brother Randil, who became the 8th Prince of Rande and who appointed him Vice-Prince in return. He took a retirement from the power and from Rande herself. He wandered on Anathema and travel to places to places, finding job time to time to survive. Unfortunately, with his corpse look, he was often chased from the village or city where he showed.
One day, he arrived and was pushed inside the Gladriel Arena. He watched the combats and found his way, his new reason to live: the fight but also a way to become a Human again: face Adriel.
He signs up for the combats but he did not prepared himself. He was too confident and quickly fall against his opponents. He underestimated the ennemy potential and relied too much on his vampire power. Because he's an undead he recover faster than the others fighters and retry many times to face Adriel.
After four trials, he managed to confront Adriel but inevitably failed. He tried many times in vain to defeat him. His longevity made him a privileged, or rather a regular. After 27 trials, 107 years of fighting, he managed to "hurt" Adriel who to reward him, granted him a favor. He was finally holding the opportunity he was waiting for, so he asked to make him dead again. But Adriel not knowing how, he took her to see Zuriel to have him examined.
Arrived at Mâsa, France discovered the theocratic machine of war. Weapon industries, military schools, propaganda, minds manipulated to die at the front. In the face of this horror, France sacrificed his chance to become human again and returned to Rande where he decided to take up arms. But he could not fight head-on and reproduce his son's mistake. He decided to arm himself against any threat that could attack the Principality of Rande and participated greatly in the prosperity of the country.

From wanderer to symbol

France was greatly involved in the development of Rande alongside her little daughter: Catherine the Blue Rose, Princess of Rande. He forged links with the Alliance of Baram without leaving Theocracy of Homeca aside. Always appreciated by the people, it became one of the pillars of the country and is still today.

Diplomat turned soldier

After the discovery of The Black Blood, France became afraid and precaution of a possible attack of demons, he decided to create a military order to eliminate all those who would oppose the peace of Rande: the Opponent Neutralization Unit (O.N.U.). He became the leader and included promising men and women.
