Wiltin Spire
The Wiltin Spire is the home of two nations, after the shattering. In the majority of the land, the skin tone of the Wiltin is dark black. The cities built on Wiltin are small brick structures, the largest of which stand no more than ten stories tall. In the Eastlands, civilization is more sparse. Towns have greater distance between them, and the weather is hotter. Here the people rely upon cattle driving and hunting to provide their meals. In the far West is the grey dessert which bars passage to that edge of Wiltin Spire; but between the central cities of Dim and Ellswhere and the grey sands beyond, lie many smaller towns. These are mostly the homes of farmers. In the Southlands are great forests of old trees, some of which withstood the shattering, and protected the cities there. In the south, relics of the past are more often intact, and the people understand the ancient machines more naturally. Still, it is not as it once was. Much of the old growth died off in the Bitter Change and where great trees once stood touching the sky, now their bodies lie, the fuel of southern swamps. In the north is the land of Hyper-Borea. A nation which was split asunder during the shattering, and whose people now live at the northern reaches of three separate spires. These people are rough and cold-spirited, and they live within the broken remains of ancient buildings: tall towers of glass and steel. The largest cities on the Wiltin Spire are Dim and Ellswhere, which are steadily growing each year, but delving into the boneyards less and less frequently as the chem veins begin to run dry.
Geography
Wiltin has a temperate climate and four seasons. It has a longer spring and fall than most spires, and enjoys a healthy growing season for more than three quarters of the year. In the south the land is densely wooded. To the west erosion has created a massive desert, walled away by a ridge of mountain made of unnatural metals. To the north the weather grows cold and bitter, but it is inhabited still. In the east the weather is warm and the roads are dusty, but it is not unlivable. Near the center of the spire, urbanization is rapidly accelerating, and the cities of Dim and Ellshwere are growing quickly.
