Faith Substance (Faith-Present/Faith-Absent)

In the shattered lands, near everything is a faith substance, such that non-faith elements are rare. This means that the world responds to the wishes and desires of its people, and that the laws of physics in our world, are actually exceptions to the rule in the shattered lands. Each of these elements of nature corresponds to ancient laws of nature. For instance, voltaic energy is the faith-present version of non-faith electrical current. Quicksilver is the faith-present version of the element mercury.

Material Characteristics

Faith-present elements and energy forms respond to requests, and to the will of those around them. To inhabitants of the shattered lands, this is a natural way of life. Dusting oneself off with one's mind is a normal occurrence, for instance.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Faith-present elements and energy forms have many of the same qualities of their faith-absent counterparts, but respond more sympathetically to sentient requests and desires.

Geology & Geography

90% of all material, on all spires, is faith-present.

Origin & Source

The land itself is primarily faith-present. Faith-absent relics are ancients and poorly understood. The commonality of faith-presence can be traced back to before the Bitter Change, but few are certain of the actual cause.
