Corpser
People who choose to spend their lives harvesting Godsblood (Chem), hoping to strike it rich, are called corpsers. These folks are a rare breed. Some seek wealth to be free of burdens, or knowledge of the dead beings they once called gods; others want to return to the surface as royalty, to be waited upon hand and foot as their fortune made in the boneyards sustains their retirement. Some seek simply to lose themselves among the ruins, or have no thoughts beyond their next fix - addicted to the sensation of injecting godsblood. No matter the reason, corpsers are paragons of conviction. These are men and women of purpose, who take active advantage of opportunities in order to make their fortune.
Career
Qualifications
There are no particular qualifications to become a corpser, but corpsing companies each maintain their own recruitment policies, and certain death awaits any corpser who tries their hand at the profession and is unequal to the task.
Career Progression
Make it big, retire, or die trying.
Payment & Reimbursement
Payment for corpsing is dependent on what you bring back to the surface. Most companies have some sort of side-business, such as ore mining, or retrieval or unique flora or fauna. The dream of all corpsers is to strike it rich, stumbling upon the grave of a god and selling off the dead deity's blood.
Other Benefits
Corpsing is a life of freedom. Below ground there aren't many rules which can't be broken. There is also the possibility of making enough notes to retire early, and spend the rest of one's life in the lap of luxury. Of course, there are many dangers.
