History & Usage
Discovery
Wyrmsont was first discovered 30 years ago by the original settlers of Dragonvale.
Everyday use
The material is used to make many things such as magic absorbing shields are weapons that can fire spells. The material is also used in the walls of military buildings and castles because it can defend against spells. A bone broth can be made from it which gives the drinker the ability to focus on things miles away and temporarily gain wings for about an hour.
Distribution
Trade & Market
While there is quite a large supply of it due to Dragonvale having a monopoly over its mining the material is worth quite a lot. Due to the prices Dragonvale charges for it, many people go to black-market sellers to buy Wyrmsont. Dragonvale constantly searches for these underground dealers and will usually have them thrown in prison before they can damage their economy too much. Since Dragonvale cracks down so hard on black-market sellers even when getting it illegally it is only sold at a small discount and most people consider the risk of getting arrested for knowingly buying illegal Wyrmsont too great.
Law & Regulation
The council of Dragonvale has outlawed anyone but them selling raw Wyrmsont and only allows people to sell items made from it has to pay an annual fee to get a permit to do so.
Value
The material usually costs 250 pieces of gold per pound.
