Aeon Stones
Mysterious, beautiful, powerful, these small magical stones are found in ruins throughout the 3rd world. They are a living link to the age that came before and as such are sought out by collectors, archaeologists, and arcane scholars through all of Erryt.
The Aeon stones represent a lost technology and have not been able to be recreated by any wizard or artificer as yet. The closest that anyone has come to truly harnessing their power are the Wayfinders created by noted archeologist and adventuring captain Lord Anton Carvel
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Aeon stones are actually a highly advanced form of crystaline computer, proving that any technology advanced enough is indistinguishable from magic. They hold the secret to how magic returned to the world with the death of the second age, but that secret has yet to be unlocked.
History
Discovered in 350 AH by Lord Anton Carvel the Aeon stones are holdovers from the second world. Crystalized pieces of Magic that interact with their user in various ways. Normally, when attuned they float around the user's head, but Lord Carvel has devised a device that allows a user to make use of the resonant power of an Aeon stone without having it on open display.
Significance
These stones are a link to the Second age and are thus very sought after by scholars of the age. They also hint at what technology might have been like in that fabled past.
Aeon Stones in Pathfinder 2e
Aeon Stones and Wayfinders in pathfinder 2e are usually not difficult to come by. This setting has changed the rarity of these items for the purposes of the story and as such treats them differently from in the book. To get either item you have to have fulfilled special requirements such as discovering an Aeon stone in a ruin or joining Lord Carvel's adventuring teams.The Pathfinder Society
In this setting, unlike in Golarion, there is no Pathfinder society and so anything associated with the society that hasn't been removed from the setting already (see Archetypes) is now under the umbrella of working with Lord Carvel and his teams. Please treat all text that involves the Pathfinder Society in the main text of the game as if it were to say "Lord Carvel's adventuring teams"
