Elique
Elique is Artiste Loreval's assistant, and a First Claw within the Monarch's Claws. She is an active scholar and researcher, and has been at the forefront of the study of bloodmagick contamination. She is an introvert with strangers, and an exuberant extrovert to those who know her well. When she speaks, others listen.Early Years
Elique is the only daughter of Adeya and Beryn qua Hildezhaon. Even her five brothers spoiled her, making for a pleasant childhood. Her parents, wealthy merchants, paid for her to attend Therdion Vall, a prestigious mystery arts school. She showed great promise in the theoretical side of wielding research, and graduated with honors. This brought her to Loreval's attention, and he convinced her to apply for the Monarch's Claws. Gadric resented her and her competence, though his nastiness was short-lived; he left the Claws to stand at Eder's side.Illenan Civil War
Faced with a dearth of talent in the Claws, Elique met with and convinced several of her classmates to join the struggling organization. Under Loreval's direction, they managed to form a cohesive defence against Eder and his strong wielding backing. Elique was a perfect helpmate to Loreval as he designed new protections for the young king and his cousin. She designed tests for the new wieldings, carefully tracking their strength and outcomes. As Loreval's assistant, she unwittingly became a target for the assassins that Eder sent after the Illenans he deemed dangerous to his plans. She had another wielder assigned to her as a bodyguard, and she and Kirten developed a close relationship. Despite the dangers, she staunchly supported Shiel over Eder and Gadric.Merren
Despite family misgivings, Elique accompanined Loreval to Merren. She and Kirten delved into many corrupted places, taking notes and developing the basis for Loreval's cleansing magicks. She stoutly supports Illenan involvement in Merren, and feels it a practically sacred duty to make the land livable and safe again.Current Events
Elique is working with Loreval to cleanse the land about the uncovered bloodmage enclave mansion near Tindrel. She is slowly developing faster techniques for uncontaminating the soil so it can become viable again. She has learned much about working around the contamination by watching the twilight being Zhelij, and hopes to employ that knowledge in future endeavors.Elique
