The Wild Hunt

They come bearing gifts...

The Shamans of The First Element hold a feast at the end of every year to honor their dead, celebrate the loving, and to bring favor for another successful year. The Wild Hunt is a week long affair, and every member of the cult is involved.   They hunt the spirits surrounding The Flip Side, and forage fruits and vegetables from their massive gardens. This hunt continues until the elders of the cult are convinced it will be enough. Hunters often compete to see who can bring the most to the table.   Once the hunt is concluded, the feast is prepared, and invitations are sent to spirits of great power that live in the metaphysical plane. Gods rub elbows with humans during this strange ritual, listening intently as the cult presents the feast. The cult wishes tonappease these entities, and if successful, these entities will bestowed gifts of their own in kind.

Origins

The Wild Hunt began as a showcase of skill for the elders of the cult. Initially, those who would join the hunt would travel far and wide to hunt the biggest, most terrifying, and most powerful spirits they could find. During this time, few ever returned from their hunt. The Wild Hunt was meant to be a lesson in humility, and those who eyed a spirit far beyond their skill ended up becoming prey, themselves.   This lasted for a century until a spirit of motherhood refused to kill the hunter whi attacked her. The spirit was tall, strong, and simply picked up the hunter, turned him around and gave him a small push, demanding for him to begone, and leave her be. When he persisted, she took his weapons, and explained she was forbidden to kill the offspring of a mother. She explained how killing her in an unfair fight lacked honor, and demanded to know how a human ventured into the metaphysical plane.     The hunter apologized, and asked forgiveness, explaining who he was. He guided the spirit to The Flip Side, where she ragaled the cult with many wild stories and granted many gifts of fetility and prosperity. This act of mercy convinced other spirits to act in kind. The cult never realized how intelligent some of the spirits they hunted could be. The Wild Hunt became a way to connect with their spiritual neighbors, as well as a means of accelerating Ascension

Blessings

Spirits traditionally bring gifts for the cultists when attending the feast. They love the blend of metaphysical food seasoned with physical spices, an expirience they describe as bizarre but delightful. The gifts are given to compensate the efforts of the cult, and can vary from one spirit to another.   These gifts usually involve promises and contracts. A spirit of love may guarantee protection for a cultist's loved ones, or may ensure they find the love of their life in coming year. A spirit of firearms may give the cultists perfect accuracy, even when their not aiming. Their gifts are almost always conceptual in nature.   On a rare occasion, a spirit may give something something more tangible. The gift may be a rare and exotic metaphysical substance or possible the spiritual form of a legendary weapon. Sometimes the gift is physical, as the cult possesses many relics from The Antediluvian Age.

"honor their dead, celebrate the loving," I think you mean 'living'!   "The cult wishes tonappease these entities," 'to appease', right?   "and if successful, these entities will bestowed gifts of their own in kind."   " A spirit of firearms may give the cultists perfect accuracy, even when their not aiming." 'they're', but also, A spirit of firearms? That's unconventional, But I suppose the folks in the trenches of WWI needed someone to pray to to keep their guns from jamming.   "On a rare occasion, a spirit may give something something more tangible. " did you mean 'Someone Something'?   "or possible the spiritual form of a legendary weapon." typo, but also WHAAAAAT? do you mean like, the spirit of an existing legendary weapon is now yours to put into your own weapon, or are you talking about a legendary weapon that exists purely spiritually?   I am always good for a feast, metaphysical plane or not. I imagine this is sort of the equivalent of the new year for the cult, seeing as how it's success indicates the success of the entire year afterward.

Ooof yes. Lots of typos once again. I shall fix. Also yes, there are spirits for LITERALLY EVERYTHING. If it can be represented, it has a spirit that embodies it. That being said, spirits are created by the prevalence of their concept. You probably don't have a spirit of desks or paint cans, but firearms? Definitely. It's not necessarily prayer but more like trust or perception. A different kind of faith. What is more noticeable is more likely to have a spirit. People place an importance on firearms, trust and belief as well. I'm working on that XD     A little bit of both actually. I have yet to write about thoughtform arnories but essentially the spirit of a weapon can live on after the body has rusted away. These weapons can be conjured in a metaphysical plane but can be imbued to a weapin on the physical plane. Imagine an AK-47 imbued with the spirit of excaliber. Because its conceptual, it doesn't matter if the sword really exists or not, or if it still exists. It's the concept of it.

I'm starting to love this cult. I really like the origin story of this feast, and the way the spirits join them for it. :)

Thank you once again! I'm really glad you like them. While not my favorite, they are a very close second for me. I'm glad the origin worked out as well. I wanted to try for something different. Lol thanks so much!
