The Void

The Void is the thin layer between dimensions and alternate universes. The Void is the place where everything returns to when it dies. The Void is timeless and spaceless, infinitely huge but extremely thin at the same time. It pockets every single dimension from every single timeline and dimension that has ever existed. Every choice that could be changed or altered exists and you can go to any of them should you have the power to rip a hole in the void. It is a gateway to the unknown.   People who fall into the void typically are already deceased, as that is where they go, but many natural creatures and even lands still reside in the Void and many time travelers and dimension hoppers will cross it from time to time. The Void is a metaphysical place where technology and magic seem to blur together in some ungodly mess, and science hasn't even begun to explain its lack of properties.   The Void is a playground, an experiment and a fall to for any stories, canon or fanwork, or even original! Stories can be set either in an actual timeline of an AU set against the Void or stories can start within the Void itself. It is the ultimate in being able to explain the unexplainable, time travel with little plot hole interactions, and cause a lot of drama. Best part? Your favorite series can be crossed over with just about anything given enough power to enter the Void.
