Vi

The Vi were once one of the many nomadic tribes occupying The Central Plains of Viland. Eventually, they settled down near a great lake (now known as Viland Lake), from which point they began building their influence and conquering their neighbors until one of their descendants, Empress Judith herself, founded an empire which would forever bear their name.
Vi people commonly have light, but ruddy skin, bearing the signs of a healthy life lived doing useful work out in the bright sunlight. As the Vi people consider themselves particularly blessed by the sun, it should not be a surprise that they commonly have blonde or red hair of a smooth texture, although it should be noted that Central Viland has only become more and more diverse over time, and generations of intermarriage have made these shared Vi features less common than they once were. 
The Old Vi language eventually evolved into modern Viskish, which is now the common tongue across the empire.
Inera, the Goddess of Life, and Iphrix, the Goddess of War, can both trace their origins back to the Old Vi religion.
