The Vein

The Vein is drawn as a cylinder. You are able to traverse around the X axis by going east or west, but the Y axis goes on infinitely on both ends. The further north you go the slower time passes, and the colder it gets, the further south you go the faster time passes and the warmer it gets. Only in between these infinite poles there is a strip of space where life has been able to establish itself.   The inside the cylinder serves as a sort of tunnel where energy passes continuously from the south to the northern void. When mortals die their souls drift into this tunnel to make a final journey to the void. Attached to the sides of the tunnel interior are the realms of the Veinlords who try to catch the souls before they enter the stream.   The worlds surface is inhabited by a variety of organisms. After thousands of years struggling, Man has emerged as the most dominant species. The other species are very much capable to hold their own, but have to live in symbiosis with mankind.   The year is 2750PR according to the Baelthir calendar. Roughly 60.000 years after mankinds emergence and 200.000 years after the conception of the Vein itself.
