The Battle of Rougeford

The Battle of Rougeford was the final conflict of Greater Yorkett independence from The Outside Powers During the battle, The Outside Powers had sent an initial force to take over the port town of Rougeford. The town had barely defeated the forces are were out of resources when The Outside Powers send in reinforcements. However, the river and its entire delta were in the red algae bloom, in which The Outside Powers mistook for the blood of their fallen warriors. The reinforcements retreated and told their leaders of what they saw. After that battle, Greater Yorkett was able to sign a treaty granting them independence.
Every year Rougeford celebrates this event with the Red Bloom Festival.
