World Trees / Pillars, and the link to Amber Sarcophagi

Most religions, at least in the Middle East and Europe, have belief in a mystical tree that is involved with either mankind or having the world itself attached to it somehow. The Slavs, Saxons, Scandinavians, the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), all do. Whether its like a pillar made out of wood, like an oak like in the former two, the tree Yggdrasil in Scandinavian belief or the Tree of Knowledge in the Old Testament, these are just a few examples. While three have the tree having the world attached to it, and the latter having the tree being forbidden to man to touch, these are all examples of how such plants are important to myths.   How this first came about in lost to time, and scholars in both religion and the occult postulate there is a common link somewhere in the deep past, and likely such a tree exists in the Far Realms tying all life together. Also, by the effects of death the tree is nourished and grows, creating more life in time.   At the same time, gods are born of fruits grown by the tree and grow when enough followers believe, then dropping and sprouting anew. At the same time, a few are forgotten or unnoticed, especially the evil deities, that the tree tries to get rid off. According to a few of these scholars, the tree secretes a type of amber unlike anything found on the Material Plane, and encases these forgotten and unwanted deities, scattering their amber sarcophagi across the Multiverse so that as few as possible are found in the one place.   Unfortunately, both mortals and a few less desirable entitles chance upon these lumps of amber. By doing so, some are corrupted by them, and others use such abominations to further their own goals. Nearly every inhabited realm seems to have at least one of these hidden away, with a few having more than others. Only destruction, death, and evil ever follows finding one of these cursed items.
