The Black Queen Fairy

This myth comes from the region that becomes Croatia. The Plitvice Lakes are the centre of the story. The area was dry and facing a longer drought the local decided to start praying and praying some more. It caught attention of the Black Fairy Queen who came down from her fairy palace to see what the commotion was. When she seen the drought and the people praying she made it rain hard and continue to rain hard for a length of time it cause the Black River to flow again, creating the lakes and waterfalls to form.
