Italian Peninsula

The Italian Peninsula is found in the Mediterranean near eastern Europe. Bordered by  both this sea and the Aegean Sea, it was once home to the Roman Empire and it's capital Rome. Now it is split into the Papal States, The Duchy of Venice, and the southern part by the Lombards.
