Giants - Cyclopes
Cyclopes (sing. Cyclops), are Greek, & later Roman, Giants who live around the eastern Mediterranean and western Black Sea region. Brontes, Steropes, and Arges, are three brother cyclopes who made Zeus his thunderbolts. The walls of the cities Mycenae & Tiryns have walls purportedly built by cyclopes, though many are classed as barbaric shepherds. In the latter instance they will live in ruins & caves, sealing of the entrance every night to protect themselves. They usually live within one mile of each other, despite being solitary, and this allows them to call for help, barter & trade with each other, and procreate. From at least the 5th Century BC, they are primarily associated with the islands of Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, though this could be a case of mistaken identity. On these islands there is skulls & bones of mammoth, and the region of the skulls where the trunk would have been maybe have gotten mistook for a single eye socket.
As a species they are the children of the Greek gods Uranus & Gaia, and at least one called Polyphemus is mentioned as the son of Poseidon. It seems that they are the children of gods in classical Greece, and has a significant divine spark in them. Saying this, each Cyclops can be very bad tempered if disturbed, and if their flocks of sheep are targeted, will defend them. Along with these flocks, they like to collect treasure, the shinier the better. If a cyclops is encountered, a good way to deal with one is to bribe them with more sheep or treasure.
The Cyclopes are mistrustful if not hostile to other Giants & Giant-kin. Though they can communicate with others, they view them as being outsiders and barbarians, not worthy of full respect. This has led to the odd conflict in the past that devastated the Cyclopes numbers centuries ago. It seemed the opponents were the mysterious Nephilim, and the grudges still run deep on both sides.
