Britain - Rest of
The west and north of Britain is largely independent at this point. Cornwall, or at least what will become Cornwall, is largely in the hands of Bythronic speaking Celts, with a bit of Roman blood mixed in. It primarily adheres to it's old ways, and with a bit of the Roman again mixed in. Wales and the very west of Britain is another Bythronic dominated region, and follows the set-up of Cornwall, though has a couple or more tribes vying for different territory. To the north, Scotland is a split country. Up a part of the east coast is controlled by the Angles of Northumbria, though it and the remaining eastern side has a large population of Picts, and the last remnants of their civilisation. They are Bythronic Celts. To the west of Scotland and the western islands, the land is controlled with the north coast & mush of Ulster in Ireland, by the Gealic speaking Scotti tribes & clans. They are based out of Dal Riada on the west coast of Scotland. Ireland & the Isle of Mann is primarily controlled by the Irish Geals with a high king inaugurated at and seated at the Hill of Tara (a ceremonial & burial mound, roughly west of Dublin.
In many of these cases, intertribal warfare is common, with alliances, treaties and intermarriage common. Each is vying for dominion over the others, and if they ever unite could easily put up a half-decent defence against the Anglo-Saxons. Besides most knowing their own language they know at least a few Latin words & phrases. Some know a few words & phrases in opposing Celtic languages, and Germanic too.
Many will fight as mercenaries for their neighbours, as much as fighting against them. This has led a few to travel to the continent to fight there, and to explore outside their native lands.
