Sigrada Adelmund is a trained fighter from Denmark. She is of noble stock, but has fallen on hard times when her family land was took from them. At a young age her father Siggi Adelmund was a Count serving the Charlemagne of Frankia. A treacherous Anglo-Saxon merchant had siphoned off the majority of their family money, so Siggi was left with insufficient funds to supply his own household. The king took pity on them and let Siggi act as a huscarl in exchange for not throwing the family out of their home. When Sigrada was young she was trained in the initial ways of war, something she has kept up with, looking for a career as a military person. Now 23 she has had to take up a life as a mercenary and adventurer. This is in due to many Franks now believing that women cannot serve in the army, though they still pay her regularly to carry out specific tasks they feel more appropriate. This includes assassination, targeting military hierarchy, bodyguard work, and the like.
At her age, Sigrada is still learning about the world of warfare, and still can fall back on her family when times are hard. They are still paying off debts though. She owns her father's longsword, Anklebiter, a shield, two hand axes, and studded leather. Not he strongest or toughest of fighters, Sigrada is known to be highly dexterous and fast. Many suitors have been turned down by both her and her family, though time is getting short for her to do so. Relatively attractive & athletic most suitors see her as a prize both on their arms and in bearing fit children.
