Sarffi Cosmogenesis

Trigger warning: (Archetypal) sexual violence.   In the beginning, Chaos and Order were in perfect balance. Together, they had many children. The first born was Time, and Chaos looked lovingly upon her child. Yet Time was barely named before Order swept in and ate their child. Next was Light, then dark, then the Sea, then Sky, each consumed almost immediately.   The Goddess wept each time, pleading with Order to leave their offspring alone. The God refused, unwilling to allow the world to change. They are noisy, they have desires and agendas, he argued. They are our children, she countered.   Since reason would not work. the Goddess resigned herself to force. The God made a mistake, forgetting that the power of creation was also the power of destruction. When he next approached her with romantic intentions, she bit off his masculinity. All of their children spilled out, forming the earth all around them. The God leapt forward, determined to eat them all again, but his last child, the Sky, stood before the others and stabbed Order in his left eye into his brain.   The Goddess knew that her children needed protection. She took apart the God's body and distributed his parts. She created the dome of the sky from his skull. His eyes became the Sun and Moon to mark the day and night. She threw his teeth to create the stars, so navigation was possible. Then she stretches her long tail all the way around his body so that it stays in place, creating the earth. She bit her own tail with her greatest head, and kept it all together in her coils.   She turned in place so that no one part of the earth is heated for too long or too little. One of her heads chases the sun, and the other chases the moon, forcing them to keep moving. If she were to stop, the sun would burn with fire, and the moon would burn with magic.   Each of her remaining heads is mistress of an art, Speech and Bargaining, Clay-crafting and Metal-smithing, Weaving and Drying, Grinding and Cooking, and every other art that is known or unknown to Sarffi. With her great wisdom, each head spoke their Truth, assigning her children to their appropriate tasks. The Sky to watch over all children, keeping a shield between the God's head and body so that he cannot re-form.
