The Blizzard Of 1993

The Blizzard Of 1993 still haunts the residents of Maple River like it just happened yesterday.
Northern Michigan is known for is particularly brutal winter months but nothing gets as close to as brutal as the winter of 1993.
what started out as a normal winter soon turned into months of darkness as the residents of Maple River found themselves even more isolated then they usually are. The residents of the town found themselves completely shut in from the months of December to March and towards the end things were looking grim.
During those months it would be rare for the blizzard to let up on the town and most of the town found themselves without power by the end of December. Eventually a large part of the town found themselves seeking refugee in the towns high school and together as a town they survived the winter.
Most of the people who lived through it avoid speaking of those months, but if you get the right person drunk they will tell you in a hushed voice some of the strange things that happened during those months.
Some will tell you that in the year 1993 Northern Michigan had a calm winter except for Maple River. While others will tell you of the strange things they say in the storm, some claim they saw a giant antlered giant roaming the storm, some will claim that the storm laughed and others will tell you of the strange lights that danced above the town during the storm.
Harvey Bell did an entire series on the Blizzard Of 1993 but after an angry mob approached his radio tower he was made to destroy the recordings. Something happened during that winter that the town of Maple River wants to forget.

Manifestation

While it may have looked like a normal winter storm to some, this storm was anything but that. People claim to have seen creatures lurking in the storm and strange lights that pierced the dark clouds above.

This blizzard only seemed to target the town of Maple River.
