Paladin

The works of the Syraic Faith are many, from fostering orphans to encouraging righteous behavior by the faithful, from princes to peasants. Its very reason for being, however, has always been the defense of humanity from any comers, be they orcs, demons, the undead, or anathemic gods. This is the sacred mission of the paladins, sworn servants of the deadly saints who fought at Syra's side in the Wars of the Dark. Their oaths to Miter bind them irrevocably to seek martyrdom carrying out his will, but in exchange they are granted miraculous powers that elevate them beyond the abilities of mortal men.
The oaths of the paladin also bring with them certain social privileges and obligations. While bound to a certain place within the hierarchy of the Syraic Faith, they are not ordained priests and do not have the more general social responsibilities of clerics or other priests. Instead, they answer directly to their superiors within their knightly orders. It is expected that paladins will devote themselves wholly to the struggle against Miter's foes, and fight to the death in emulation of the saints. For these reasons, devoted paladins donate their wealth to the Faith, and rely on its provisioning them with equipment and supplies, as well as funds to keep the appearance of a lifestyle commensurate to their rank.

Languages. You can read and write Partosian, the common tongue of the nobility and of the Syraic Faith.
Spellcasting. The list of spells available to you is granted by Miter and his Watchers. They will bestow their miracles only upon their faithful servants
Advancement. Recovering treasure only grants you experience points when that treasure is donated to officials of the Syraic Faith. If you maintain good relations with these officials, they will materially support you.
