Miter

Miter is the Partosian name for the sun and the chief god revered by most of humanity. Before the dawn of time, it was Miter who triumphed over the chaos in heaven and put the heavenly bodies in order. By his march through heaven the stars and planets are kept in order, and the processions of day and night and the seasons are regulated. Even the phases of the moon, the brother of Miter, are timed according to Miter's will. Miter and his faith, Syraism are the most common religion of clerics and paladins, and it is not unknown for Miter to bestow miraculous powers on these staunchest of his worshippers.   Humanity has long held Miter to be the Prince of the Gods and the King in Heaven, but in ancient Partos his worship was magnified. By the end of the Revolution, Miter was identified as Sovereign of the Universe, the heavenly counterpart to the Partosian Sovereign of the Earth.   In response to the existential threat of the Wars of the Dark, the reforms of Nicodemos established the Syraic Faith as the orthodox religion of Partos. Syra's vision of Miter as not just the Sovereign of human civilization, but its defender against darkness and chaos, became his prescribed depiction in civic art. By the time the Sovereignty collapsed, Syraic worship of Miter was observed across Euborea and the Interior Sea.   Miter is a mighty god, governing most aspects of life for civilized people. His divine domains include Knowledge, Life Light, Tempest, and War.
