Appearance: human form; 5' 11" with the lean build of a swimmer, he has green verdigris colored eyes and wavy blue-gray hair that he wears in a shaggy mess. He has a birthmark that covers the majority of the left side of his torso and arm, that is a few shades darker then his normally tan skin and looks almost identical to the spots and coloring of a leopard seal. Animal form; despite most peoples justified belief at Tadhgán's coming of age trial that he would take a similar form either his selkie mother, or his father who could change into a sea serpent, Tadhgán came out of his trial with the second form of a Thunderbird.
Abilities: Though not a great healer, Tadhgán does have some natural healing abilities he inherited from his father. from his mother he inherited the ability to communicate telepathically with most sea creatures. he can also swim up to 20 mph, hold his breath for over an hour, as well as hear exceptionally well under water. given to him along with his second form was the ability to command lightning, as well as control the weather.
Weapon of choice: a composite bow made with an ironwood core. The back, siyahs, and belly are lined with the sinew and horn from a narwhal. He also carries two long knives, the handles of the knives were made from antique carved ivory that extends along the top of the nine inch blades to about halfway down. the blades of the knives were made from black-green obsidian that were treated with an alchemical mixture to prevent shattering. The lower three inches of the blades are serrated to more easily cut through the tough tendons and bones of sea creatures.
As told to him by his father when he was a child, Tadhgán is the love child of an Iwi Awa and a Selkie. Before he was born, his father met the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. it was love at first sight on both sides and they spent every day together for the next three months. then one day the woman vanished, never to be seen again. Seven months later, a basket holding a newborn child and a note were found on his doorstep. the note proclaimed the child his and that the mother was unable to care for it. not knowing what else to do, Tadhgán's father took him in and raised him. Tadhgán was an easygoing child and grew to be a just as easygoing, but hard working man. After his coming of age trial, Tadghán decided that he wanted to travel, so he applied for the Verndari trials and, when he passed, he joined up.
Notable event: when Tadghán was about 16, he decided to run away from home and find his mother. After many misadventures, and near disasters, he was able to find the home of the selkies and lived with them for a few months, though he never did find his mother. His father came and got him after the alpha selkie caught him making eyes at his young, pretty daughter.
