Skyrunner Luxury Airship

The clearest indicator that I had left behind my life running a shop in a small village was when I first traveled by airship. Jormund and Merey told me that we had to meet with the dwarves before the week's end for them to produce my device, and this was the only way to get there. We left the city proper on horseback, as they were the fastest way to navigate the narrow switchbacks up the mountain.

At the top, I got my first close up glimpse of the ship. It was so much bigger than I imagined, which made me realize it flew higher than I had thought. 300 yards long, and 75 yards wide at the widest point, about a third of the way back from the rounded bow. It tapered off towards the back, narrowing to just a score of feet across, before flaring out into a salmon tail rudder. I could not see them now, but there were panels that folded out from different areas to control the flight.

Merey led us to the platform at the edge of the mountain, where the ship was moored. We climbed to the top of the stairs and into the belly of what reminded me of nothing more than a giant fish. The doors led to a large comfortable atrium ringed by balconies. Porters were crossing back and forth, and my luggage was whisked away. Jormund sat on a plush armchair facing the entrance, waiting for his contact, while Merey led me across the atrium to a dimly lit bar.

The Fastest, Safest, Most Luxurious Way to Travel Valbarra

The SLA-200 is Valbarra's most sought after way to travel, and Skyrunner Connections is the only way to experience the SLA-200. On an SLA-200, you can travel from Val Harna to Dallian in five days, all the while in the comfort afforded by the most elegant of inns.

Entering from the bow, our first class passengers enter into the luxury atrium. When the doors are shut, the front windows are revealed to show the sky that the ship is moving through at a dizzying 25 miles per hour. The atrium holds a number of luxurious couches, love seats, and arm chairs for lounging, with tables and other implements to facilitate conversation and gaming. All are welcome to gather and enjoy the company of their peers traveling with them.

Both levels of the atrium have different bars, cafes, and other eating establishments to satisfy any desires. Whether one is looking for a quiet drink while listening to a resident bard, a secluded spot to make deals away from prying eyes, or to taste the food made by the finest chefs, it can all be had in the atrium lounges. The various lounges all provide their services to the patrons in the atrium as well, so groups can experience their favored menu without compromise. All of these pale in comparison to the grand dining room, located one level above the atrium. Food is available to order throughout the day, while each evening there are two dinner shows. Our renowned chefs plan and present their interpretations of various menus, both daring and familiar, while special guest performers entertain from the gilded stage. Depending on the particular ship, there may be pipe lounges, libraries, casinos, card rooms, or other amenities filling out the rest of the deck.

The passenger rooms, however, are the crowning glory of the ships. All rooms have an exterior bulkhead with a port, while suites set behind the front curve have their own balconies built into the room. Rooms contain large, comfortable beds, wall to wall carpeting, and private washrooms. Comfortable chairs, writing desks, and dining nooks round out the standard rooms, while suites have oversized beds separate from a lounging room with a full sitting area and wet bar.

The SLA-200 - the only choice for travel for the nobility of Valbarra. If you want to travel in the comfort and style that are afforded to them, fly Skyrunner Connections.

Power Generation

The SLA-200 is powered by the latest generation of elemental furnace. Three engineers are required at all times to power the furnace, although two working together can maintain enough power to lower the ship.

Propulsion

The elemental furnace expels heated gases from controlled ports on the airship to provide propulsion. Most of the mass is directed out below the tail rudder, providing forward thrust and enough upward thrust to overcome the weight of the cargo and passengers.

Weapons & Armament

The SLA-200 operates in safe territories, and does not carry any weaponry.

Armor and defense

In the highly unlikely event of an attack of the SLA-200, the engineers can be expected to provide protection for the ship while calling for help.

Communication Tools & Systems

All SLA-200 Airships are equipped with sending stone communication arrays. Through the communication arrays, all major ports can be contacted within just a few minutes for traveling instructions. Emergency sending rings are present on all ships, able to immediately contact the appropriate authorities.

Internal communications are handled by message portals, located in all crew sections of the ship.

Sensors

The bridge deck contains a periscope with 10 times magnification, able to search all areas of the sky.
