The Setting
The Tempest Wilds is a post-apocalypse Earth, where climate change has caused storms to go out of control, wreaking untold destruction across the globe and crippling the entire global infrastructure. No longer capable of producing all technology locally, while constant storms prevent recovery, civilization starts deteriorating. Defending local interests with massive paranoia and disinformation, gives birth to dystopian circumstances.
The Plot
One of the possible stories would focus on Yfke from Zwartterp, an introvert desperate to escape from constant social control by becoming a Scout. She meets the stranger Diene, an encounter that will eventually spiral into the downfall of Zwartterp. Even at a different community, Yfke would not cope well and still have to fight forms of social oppression, while outside threats remain.
The Plan
For WorldEmber, the plan is to work on the setting's foundation with at least 5k words. The focus will be on three parts: First important technologies that still remain. Second, the structure many Communities now follow. And the Land, including various locations and threats. Below are possibilities per category to work on.
