Magio-Supremacist

Magio-supremacists generally believe that all those with The Talent are innately and inherently superior to mundane people (i.e., those without natural Talent). Other core beliefs include:
  • The Talent indicates genetic, social, and moral superiority, and therefore
  • Mages should control government, markets, and businesses.
  • Mundane people exist to serve the mages.
  • Mages are better able to rule, to learn, to research, to govern, than mundane people, who are less intelligent and less capable than mages.
Because the magio-supremacists' beliefs center on the genetic superiority of The Talent, they also believe that mages should not interbreed with mundane people. Indeed, they espouse eugenics and endogamy in the Talented community in hopes of increasing the Talent and power of magical children.   Magio-supremacy is not confined to one nation or ethnicity; they exist in every country around the world. Often, they ally themselves with other extreme groups (such as political separatists, hate groups, or terrorists) in order to promote their goals. They will even ally with mundane groups; they are quite willing to allow mundane people to draw fire and do the dirty work.   Most magio-supremacists are also racist, homophobic, and nationalistic. Many magio-supremacists believe that those outside their race, sexual orientation, or nation / people cannot actually possess The Talent and therefore should not be accorded the privilege and acceptance accorded to mages. Sexism also persists among the magio-supremacists, but to a lesser degree than in other such groups, as Talented women have historically shown as great ability and power as men. Still some magio-supremacists groups advocate a return to traditional gender roles in magic (i.e., men working on research, war, and public issues, while women work their magic in the domestic sphere).   Because the magio-supremacists believe in Talented superiority, they tend to be Luddites, rejecting technological advances as the crutches of mundane people. The practice of this belief is inconsistent. For instance, a magio-supremacist may rail against cell phones and computers and television, but own a perfectly maintained car or store food in a refrigerator. Older technologies are more likely to be tolerated, except those that employ networks (telephones, televisions, computers, even radio).   Some magio-supremacists are content to sit and hate at home, but many groups are engaged in active campaigns to recruit others to their cause, subordinate mundane people, and advance their agenda. Some groups engage in protests; still others practice intimidation and violence. There are, indeed, some terrorist organizations among the magio-supremacists.
