Swiftkey Adventurers Guildhall Overview

The key to a swift solution.

“You are now part of a community that brings solutions to people. And while that may sound simple, it is very much anything but simple. Requests come from all over the many worlds and planes of existence to our guildhouse, here in Sigil. We work, sleep, and drink in a place where doors can open to anything and everything in existence. If you’re lucky, you might survive long enough to see some of it. Guild members are free to come and go as they wish, but now you are here with us. It is time for you to take a job. Do us proud.” -Madam Helga Frostbane, Headmistress of the Swiftkey Adventurers Guild

Welcome to the Swiftkey Adventurers Guild.

There are many guilds within the Guild District of Sigil and Swiftkey, well its one of them. It is not the highest profile guild, nor is the most secretive. Over the generations they have prided themselves in having members who can help out many different clientele throughout the multiverse. A key to their success is the guild’s access to traveler keys. These artifacts are highly saght after by all guilds and are exclusively allowed by the ruler of Sigil, the Lady of Blades.

Guildhall Facilities

The guildhall was originally a tavern, generations ago and the founders of the guild were adventurers who started their trips here. When they retired, they bought the building and took on apprentices. From there, the framework for the Swiftkey Adventurers Guild was built. The structure itself has been added onto a number of times and while it is built with a good level of craftsmanship, it is clear that they were not worried about keeping the style of the original building intact. Infact, each wing of the Guildhall has a distinct flavor based off of the Guild Master of that era and what they added.

The Hall

The original tavern sign still hangs outside the main door of the guildhall. It's a sheild shaped hand carved wooden sign. On it is a locked stein with a key, unlocking it. Into the hall, one experiences a classic tavern feel. Dark wood walls and ceiling and a flagstone floor. One could fit a couple hundred people in this main hall if personal space isn't an issue. Otherwise, the bar is fully functional and serves meals all light time and dark. This is also where adventurers gather to go on jobs and Madam Helga Frostbane is often there, handing out one of the coveted Traveler's Keys.

The Dormitory

The guildhall is your home. As a member, you are afforded a room in the dormitory. A small room of your very own containing a mostly comfortable bed, a small dresser and a wash basin. You are encouraged to make yourself at home and are allowed to decorate as you will, granted you don't burn the whole place down. A rough wooden stair leads down to the Hall below.

The Atrium

Out the back double doors of the hall opens to a tidy garden surrounded by a covered breezeway. A handful of struggling pine trees, some shrubs and a well kept pond are littered about the rock gardens. This is a central area for the Guildhall where most other wings split off from. Sigil is a constructed city and therefore nature is not a natural thing here. This small amount of greenery is quite a luxury.

The Workshop

Set off of the western side of the Atrium, the workshop hosts a furnace and anvil for smithy work as well as work tables for more specific crafting for those who need the space. There is also a separate room that contains multiple tables and workstations to allow guild members a place to create weapons, armor, and whatever else they find interesting.  Basic materials are sold for a minimal fee, while more rare materials will need to be found outside of the workshop. The quartermaster of the guild also has his shop here as well. She supplies basic supplies, weapons and armor at cost. The guild Smith also is here working on commissions and is open to helping others at the forge.
