The Denhagara Necropolis

It didnt take long after humans were placed on the world for them to find the doors. Massive doors made of solid gold set into the side of a mountain that had the ability to bring peace to anyone who looked upon them. They tried everything they could to open them and when that failed they built an empire around the doors.   In time the priests figured out that the right prayers and supplications could open the door and they sent explorers in to investigate. Out of 30 volunteers one returned and he spoke of a buried city filled with dead things that move slowly but are driven by hunger. He also had recovered several magic items that were much stronger then could be created now.   The leaders of the Macarean empire were as afraid of the dead as the were wishful of the powerful magics that lay in the dead city. There would be many more expeditions into the city in time.

Geography

Denhagara Necropolis consists of a vast underground city that stretches for miles as well as has several layers going deeper into the ground. The once beautiful buildings and walkways have all fallen into disrepair. There are many landmarks but they all remain unnamed with one exception., The Illhame. This massive church is at the center of the necropolis and was taken over by a Lich named Vintnareaux when the original gods abandoned the world.   The other great wonder here is the golden doors that manage to keep the dead inside. When the Sundering occured the city was desecrated and at the same time the only way in and out was blessed. Not even the most powerful of the undead have figured a way out of their stone prison and none can even approach the doors

Fauna & Flora

There is nothing in this land that has not been dead and returned to some semblance of life, except the mushrooms. Everything from the rotting fish that swim in the ponds and lakes to the Lich king hisself is undead. The mushrooms that grow here are just as dangerous, being twisted by the macabre effects of the dead city.

Natural Resources

There isn't much natural left in this location to find.. however there is a lot of magic to be found here left over from the Sundering.
