The Cult of Dharashis
Mythology & Lore
The Great Wurm is the destroyer who brings new life, all things must die to be reborn again. It is believed that Dharashis travels the world tearing up the world and leaving caves in her wake while also causing forests, jungles and other hotspots of life to grow behind her
Divine Origins
The Eawalr tribe of Elves were the first to settle in the forest and to find the caves. They believe the land was desolate after the Sundering until Dharashis came to till the land, it was in her wake that the entire forest was born
Tenets of Faith
The Cult of Dharashis believe that life is sacred, and should be protected unless it is necessary to end it for the better of the whole. They view the whole forest as part of themselves. Trespassers in the forest are fine unless they do significant damage to the area. Even cutting down a tree is not a punishable offense though if you cut many you will see the Elves justice.
Worship
Worship in the cult happened in a couple of different ways. Hunting so the tribe could eat is considered a great exultation of Dharashis and the hunters themselves are considered to be almost as important as the druids. Creation of items needed by the tribe was also seen as a religious rite. Also the Druids would hold daily ceremonies at the rise of the sun to mark the Wurm going into the surface and at nightfall to mark her return to the caves. These ceremonies included singing and chanting
Priesthood
The priesthood of the cult are druids who guide the people in deciding what is good growth and what needs to be cut back. Druids will get a tattoo of The Great Wurm on their backs that Mark's them as a priest. Clerics of Dharashis are completely unheard of.
