The Star Sea

‘The plan, is in place. The Corruption is spreading. In every corner of the galaxy; Life will grow, survive, and evolve. To reveal its true potential. In following its dreams, it will answer MY needs. Its search for power, and its thirst for dust; it will nourish OUR return. At that moment, those who stand against us, Shall all be reminded; Who THEIR gods are’   The Emperor is dead.   Across the countless number of stars within the confines of The United Empires borders, the news rings out. The Emperor, beloved by all, is dead, slain by an unknown assailaint that has escaped into the aether.   Alliances once held together through admiration, fear or mutual benefit have begun to dissolve as chaos threatens to rip the fragile peace of a thousand thousand worlds, and the noble houses which govern them, apart.   Attempting to hold it all together, the crown princess has returned from the western front and assumed the mantle of Empress. But between squabbling dignitaries, feuding bloodlines and the threat of invasion, her every effort is stymied.   Further still, cults which once dwelt in the shadows of her fathers reign, have begun to emerge. Birthing forth in flurries of carnage, madness and depravity and leaving entire swaths of the galaxy in disarray.   However not all hope is lost, as the realm falls to chaos, heroes arise, both new and old to face the numberless threats. And in hushed tones, whispers of Ancient things moving between the stars have began to spread. The Old Gods and their great machines may yet stir.
