Zir

The dragonborn nation of Zir occupies most of the desert known as the Eastern Sands. Established during The Immolation, Zir was built upon the ruins of an ancient Yuan-ti empire.   The dragonborn of Zir are an old, civilized nation. Most of the population of Zir is concentrated in Ziris, a great city made of @[dragonglass].   The people of Zir are technologically more advanced than the Northern Sanction, and far surpass most nations in their knowledge of mathematics and astronomy. They have hyper accurate maps of the stars and their procession through the sky. The calendar of the Spinelands is the Zirathian Calendar.       Zir is connected with Cardus through a trade route called the Winter Way, named this way after the draconic name for the milky way. This name proved to be fitting, since the unnaturally hot desert of Zir is almost impossible for humans to traverse during the summer months. For this reason, most trade along the Winter Way happens during the cold season.   The nation of Zir is run by the Council of Seven, the head of which is known as the Glass Dragon. These are a council of high wizards, each the head of their respective schools of magic (excluding necromancy, which is taboo in draconic culture).
