David Aleksander Lakatos

A distinguished agent in the Department of Investigations, Dave started his career as a soldier and eventually as a front line special observer. These specially trained spies act primarily as intelligence gathering agents in the field, but are cross trained as small or single unit combat operators on the rare occasion that formal wet works teams are unavailable. While most of Dave's history as an operator are not known, his understanding of outlander culture and ability to speak most dialects across the northern half of the continent was remarkable. After the Kaliean Harvest Massacre, Dave resigned his commision in the observers corps and began working as an incident investigator for the Department of Investigations. He was heavily involved in breaking the Vitrogate scandal, an incident which exposed widespread corruption in the Ecotan military and ultimately resulted in the dismissal of three high ranking generals. Sarr Industries was heavily implicated in Vitrogate, and Dave is known to have been the spear point on a number of internal affairs investigations targeting ex Sarr Industries employees in the coming years.
Dave is in his mid thirties. His arms swing wide away from his body from years of carrying holstered weapons. He has a long confident stride and is taller than most at six foot one inch. He usually wears formal white collar attire, even when out in the course of his work. Though he is not afraid to don a combat vest or use civilian cloths to accomplish a task or duty when needed. He has an old warriors build, blunt around the edges where age has tempered raw strength but has a piercing gaze which can communicate great intensity or profound understanding. This gives him great power over people during interviews or interrogations, in that he can make a man feel entirely comfortable, or scared to his core depending on need.
Dave's motivations stem accident he suffered as a child, in which his mother was killed by a drunk driver and his father injured. Dave spent several weeks in a coma, and only learned of his mothers death when he awoke to she had already been buried. The driver was a senator's son and was never prosecuted. A very charitable donation was made to the hospital shortly after DUI blood tests proved inconclusive. Dave's family never pressed charges or civic suit according to an agreement Dave's father signed with the hospital and a representative of the senators family. All medical and rehabilitative care was paid for in exchange for their silence, an arrangement that Dave was made to respect by his father and an arrangement that he resented with every fiber of his being. This was the ultimate breaking point in their relationship, and was the reason why Dave eventually joined the military.
Dave firmly believes that there can be no compromise with evil in any form, and that the 'right' thing is always the right thing. No matter the cost, Ecotan's do the right thing. This extreme line was put to the test during his service in the Ecotan military, and one that tempered his rage and focused it into a patient but firm resolve that underpinned his entire career.

Large scar running the length of his spine from the base of the neck down to a few inches above the hips. Scar branches out at various points following key nerve tracks. Various other subtle wounds received in combat. A few small scars on his arms and legs from reconstructive surgery following a childhood car accident.
Arms are long and powerful, providing great reach for his height and weight. Strong runner and excellent sprinter.

Sharp green eyes with short, clean cut brown hair. Smooth features, with a strong jawline rounded cheekbones. Resting features tent to look impassive, analytical.

Exceptionally fast on his feet, with a fighting style that emphasises quick and rapid strikes.

Special abilities

Enhanced reflexes and perception. Limited mental acuity and cognitive enhancements, mostly side effects brought about by spinal paralysis treatments received as a child. Capacity to transcribe sound into color and visualize it. Also a side effect of spinal paralysis treatments received as a child. Manifestation of this ability usually results in sensory overload. Recurrent medication required to suppress attacks.
