The Dunheuvelin Rebellion

The Dunheuvelin Rebellion was instigated by Gerard Dunheuvelin, the second son of Earl Ulrich Dunheuvelin, against the first Raskvaerii König, Miron Iskander. It started as a campaign of seditious speech to whip up unrest amongst the commons in the Feuerveld, and culminated in the Battle of Alahnis.   Gerard Dunheuvelin is infamous in his role as rebellion leader, but also for calling the Last Dunheuvelin Dragon from the skies, and for Martyring Saint-König Miron.

The Dunheuvelin Context

At the time of the Raskvaerii Invasion of Kredashmi, the Feuerveld was still clan lands under the control of clan leader, Elroy Dunheuvelin. As Master of the König's Dragons, Elroy and the other Dragon Riders provided aerial defence for König Henryk Rhaelen in battle. However, by the time of the final battle, most of the Kredasene dragons had been slain by Raskvaeric's superior military machines. Elroy rode into battle on horseback beside his König, and died attempting to protect his body after the König's death. Elroy lost two sons during the Invasion. Frederic died with his dragon; his youngest son, also called Elroy, is believed to have died in a minor skirmish, but his body was never recovered. In the years following the Invasion, König Miron allowed Elroy's second son, Ulrich Dunheuvelin, to become the newly restyled Earl of the Feuerveld. At the Ceremony of Reconciliation, König Miron made a pointed remark about Ulrich's decision to name his infant son after both the boy's grandfathers. His Varsii grandfather, Cadfan Trevithick, had also died during the Final Battle.
For the sake of your house, Dunheuvelin, I hope that young Cadfiell and his brothers grow to have kinder hearts for their König than their grandsires.
— König Miron to Ulrich Dunheuvelin
