Long Furred Fox-Cow

Basic Information

Anatomy

The long furred fox-cow, simply called a fox-cow, is a quadruped covered in bright, orange-red fur. One could describe the fur being similar to a European red fox, but we residents of Scrapbook have no idea what a red fox is.
This fur is very long, the sides on the stomach of the fox-cow can touch the ground when the beast is standing straight up.

Growth Rate & Stages

When the fox-cow is a young kit-calf, it has soft, rust fuzz on its gray skin. After several weeks, the kit-calf grows, and soon it is a fully mature fox-cow. The longer fur grows in at around 6 months.

Ecology and Habitats

Fox-cows prefer the fourth planet's, Herudumra, grassy environment. Fox-cows love and enjoy the long pastures that Herudumra provides.
Herudumra is known for its weed problem, so the fox-cows can act as lawn-mowers and remove the long, dangerous grasses.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Fox-cows only eat grass. It is a mutation if they are omnivores or carnivores.

Biological Cycle

Herudumra is warm all year round, so it can be hard to judge based on the temperature what season it is.

Additional Information

Domestication

Fox-cows became more trusting of the other beings of Scrapbook, particularly if they smelled if cinnamon.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Fox-cow milk has a somewhat sour taste, but is enjoyed by some beings of Scrapbook.
Fox-cows are mainly used for their fur, which can be shaved or stripped off when the fox-cow gets killed for meat or leather. Shaved fur has to undergo a process called sticking, where the fur is stuck to a clear plastic to keep the furs together.
Fox-cows, as mentioned, can be used for leather and meat as well.

The leather and pelt of a fox-cow are highly prized, as such quality can only be achieved on the Herudumra world's plains.

Facial characteristics

Fox-cows have shorter and finer fur on their faces. Their faces are also quite long and narrow.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The long fur unfortunately prevents the animal from seeing to well, but it has an incredible sense of hearing and smell. It knows what its guardian smells and sounds like, and trusts that being with their life.
