The Sixth World
Blackberry Moon 2545 PE-post-emergence
At the beginning of the Sixth Age, the magnetosphere reversed polarity. From this change, two constants of life on Earth were altered. One was the alteration of magma currents on which the continents floated like reed baskets. Relevant to this story, is the hot-spot which had buoyed up the North American plate for millions of years reemerged under the Pacific plate, birthing a new continent that would be called Pax.
A second alteration, key to the future of the first was about the bonding properties of iron. Under the influence of the new magnetic polarity, all metals based on iron decrystalized and returned to inert mineral oxides from which they had been derived. Cold-iron simply ceased to exist, and the forces held in check since the iron-age were released back into the world.
