Baron Benjamin Beauregard XXXII

Throughout all the Kingdoms in the world, there was perhaps no greater exemplar of nobility and posh than Baron Benjamin Beauregard XXXII, High Mage to the King of Syldra, Grand Priest to the Temple of Charity, Knight of the Order of the Poor Saints of Bartholomew, Patriarch to the House of Beauregard, Headmaster of the Royal Academy of the Mystic Arts, Patron of the Royally Sanctioned Guild of Artists and Writers, etc.   He died alone, his skull smashed to pieces, on the dirty floor of a remote tavern, out in the middle of nowhere.   Like so many of his stature, the Baron cared little for the serfs who lived off of his land and generosity. So, after a poor harvest, it was with little hesitation that he chose not to open up his vast stores of grain. Commoner were, after all, generally a lazy bunch. Feed them once and they would be at his door begging for charity again within the hour! It was with even less hesitation that he chose to travel personally to crush their little rebellion. He conjured his Magic, as mighty as a dragon and ten times as cruel and...   That was when the Silence happened.   A mere day later, he was begging for shelter and aid at a local tavern, his fine clothes reduced to rags, his finery long gone, madness and desperation in his eyes, where there had once been casual superiority. And that was where he died, his life reduced to a bloody smear on the dirt floor as bandits, hearing his plight, gathered to take his treasure, pillage his lands, and loot his beautiful home.
