Tirelian's Spire

Tirelian's Spire is the physical headquarters of the University of Bamalion, located in the Shindusian capital of Lukrar. It holds the central library for the University, a handful of lecture halls, a plethora of laboratories and research stations, as well as the private offices for the representative of Bamalion and all of their closest advisors. It is named for Tirelian the Scholar of the Five Heroes.   It is the largest building in the city, both in terms of width and height. It was one of the first major buildings built after Lukrar's founding and has had countless additions built on to improve it's facilities and capacity. Although those extensions are all physically connected to make a single structure, they were all built decades to centuries apart and the building includes plenty of courtyards, so it is easy to mistake it for an entire campus made up of different buildings.    The oldest section of the building is the titular spire, made up of a huge obelisk like structure with other space at its base. The offices for the representative and their advisors are located near the peak of the tower with the sacred library, where only the most valued texts are kept, at its base. The spire itself is notable because it is the tallest structure in the city and a famous part of its skyline. It was supposedly engineered by Tirelian as a way to preserve the knowledge of architecture and design theory developed in Dujuku and lost in the Calamity. However, although it was supposedly built with that intention, Tirelian paradoxically left very little in the way of documentation for his purposes and thoughts, leaving much of its secrets undiscovered. This is partially why nothing taller than it has been built yet, as the technology has not been redeveloped to facilitate a structure as tall as the spire without requiring a prohibitively large footprint.
