The Second Kuchu-Shindus War
The Second Kuchu-Shindus War was a year long war fought by Kuchun resistance forces for independence from the Shindus Empire. The Kuchun Dynasty was conquered by the Shindus Empire nearly a century prior, in the First Kuchu-Shindus War, but had never truly been assimilated into the empire.
After Kuchu fell, remnants of the royal family fled to the nation of Sengeg to the east that were working on finding a way recreate their dynasty. The nation of Sengeg was incredibly wary of the Shindus Empire and their violent expansion, so they worked with the former royal family to undermine Shindus' success. The first part of their plan involved Sengeg formally declaring war on Shindus, in the hopes of diverting troops and resources east, away from the Kuchu valley. The mountains between Shindus and Sengeg are incredibly treacherous, so they knew that whoever tried to expand beyond them would inevitably be the one to lose. They tried to bait Shindus into attacking them through that natural border so that they could whittle down their forces and while staying on the defensive and win through attrition. They did this by sending a small but elite army marching over the border to ransack eastern Shindus until an army was sent to deal with them.
The original plan was only for the raiding party to get their attention, and then retreat back across the mountains. However, the force that Shindus sent in response was lead by Ratsuik, the 12th representative of Pitelion. Ratsuik's army rapidly caught up with them, led by Ratsuik himself considerably ahead of the rest of his forces, and forced the Sengeg party to turn and fight. Miraculously, although it is not understood how because the rest of the raiding party was wiped out afterwards, they managed to fell Ratsuik and end the threat posed by the representatives of Pitelion.
As soon as this happened, the Kuchun royalty returned to their home and began stirring support, eventually banding together a small army that was more than capable of handling the remaining Shindusian troops left in the valley. They slowly pushed the Shindusian army all the way back to their fortress at Ambam. There, the two nations held a stalemate for nearly a year before signing a tenuous peace that reinstated the Kuchun Dynasty as a sovereign nation.
