Xiphos Cult

Inheritors of the Old World

While the Astrika claim nobility, the Logos the powerful of the arsenal of weapons, and the Mekkei with the power of the Credit. None possess the fervor nor dogma of the Xiphos. No major power has ever challenged their absolute authority in the mystical or spiritual realms that the Xiphos venerate. Even the dreaded Inquisitorius of the Galactic Empire has cast its eyes upon the Xiphos and has sanctioned them, to quote the Grand Inquisitor Jarec “esteemed efforts” in such matters.   The legend that created the Xiphos dates back to thousand of years ago, as the Xiphos propaganda instills iconography and artsy which depicts eight warriors of legend doing battle against a dark queen and her followers upon a blasted and destruction wrought landscape. It was the scholar Xiphos who was an eyewitness to the battle as he watched everything around him burn and die in the titanic battle, he was inspired to write of new found teachings in following a false ido that he and his people installed. Xiphos himself perished but not until his hastily fashioned work was sealed in his most prized possession a Phrik Lockbox, nearly indestructible this vessel was to hold such learned wisdom until.     Is was unearthed by the first settlers of the Noble Households, who claimed such worlds in the Aphelion System as their own. It was the Iacton family of settlers who unearthed the lock box of Xiphos. Such teachings resounded with the Iacton family as they began to teach all their members of the family and even the serfs such lessons of Xiphos long after he himself has perished. After a decade the Iacton family was cast out of the Noble Households by the combined political and military might of the other families. For spreading their new found faith based on a so called Mad Scholar to other citizens of the new fledgling Aphelion System.

The Casting Out & Heeding the Great Call

With the other Households assembling against them the Iacton family and its Xiphosian followers beseeched a power from outside the Aphelion Nebula which could help protect them from the coming onslaught of the assembled Noble Houses the Iacton family appealed to the Sectors powerful merchant conglomerate the Mekkei Corporate Conglomerate under their lead Izu Mekkei. The vast armada of Mekkei merchant and security fleet ships blockaded any attempt for the allied Noble Households under the Louse family to interfere with the call to all Xiphos followers to join the Iacton family on Aphelion Prime. In exchange for all the worldly possessions except for basic items and the construction of massive arcology known as the Ziggurat in the former Iacton settled area on Aphelion Prime. The now proclaimed Xiphos Cult was established with its first trading partner the Mekkei Corporate Conglomerate. As the Iacton family seceded from the Noble Households.   Now that all followers of their idol concentrated into one space. The newly branded Xiphos promised reprieve from the Noble Households and guaranteed new life for those tired of such rule under absolute law along with those who wished change by the knowledge of the Supreme Intelligence. As the now venerated doomed scholar Xiphos was idolized as a tragic but graced with the infinite wisdom before his untimely demise. Many began to flock to the promises delivered by the Cult as the numbers of swelled to massive heights. Backed by a promising trade partner and political ally the Mekkei-Xiphos pact would last for years as the two would form a powerful block to stop the Noble Households expansion and influence thought out the Republics golden era.

The Great Distrust

The Xiphos Cult continued to flourish as is attracted great artists, scholars, and theologians from all over the system and even the sector. Great works of art and culture were achieved by the followers of the doomed scholar now hundreds of years since his lock box and teachings had been discovered. This would come to an end in the waning years of the Republic as the far off Core Worlds distanced themselves from the Outer Rim as tensions arose with what would become the Clone Wars, the blockade of Naboo by the Trade Federation. As the Xiphos watched their staunch ally and supporter in the Mekkei began to sway towards the Trade Federations policies. Such inclinations also meant the slacking support of the Xiphos Cult as Mekkei merchant ships and security forces had to be diverted elsewhere. Eventually ending in the long term standing mutual support of the Xiphos. Feeling abandoned by the once powerful merchant allies to their own demise the Cult looked to a solution as they themselves possessed few if any professional soldiers to fight a war for them. To protect such interests they hired a cabal of mercenaries the Aphelion System had never seen before. Bearing a name which would become synonymous with carnage and destruction in the system.

The Havoc Corp

The only mercenary unit ever hired by the Xiphos Cult. Originally suspected to be comprised of several smaller mercenaries combined into one organization by the Xiphos themselves. Utterly fanatical in battle the Havoc Corps has had no other employer in the Aphelion System. Equipped exclusively with arms and armament built by the artisans of the Xiphos themselves. The mantra of the Havoc Corps is just that complete and utter havoc upon its enemy.   Such methods have drawn ire from those who have to face them on the battlefields. But no one could argue with their results as they have thrown back several attempts at the Noble Households once led by the families Louse, Gorgian and Astrika to get revenge who view them with disdain and as less than honorable opponents. While the clashes between the Mekkei and the Havoc Corp has been few both sides has always respect one another. As the Havoc Corp has never utilized Disruptor weapons or its favorite choice of incendiary munitions against the Mekkei or its hired mercenaries. No known clashes between the Havoc Corp and the Logosian Council have never been recorded despite the attacks by FIRM against the Xiphos peace mission to the planet. Though reports of the Havoc Corp kidnapping native Searhusian humans has been documented no confirmed reports of such actions could be accounted during the peace keeping mission to the planet. While others reported activity of Havoc Corp units deep within FIRM and Logos territory searching for artifacts or anything related to the Xiphos himself.. No one save perhaps the Supreme Intelligence knows for what reasons exactly. The Cabal of Superior Intellect   No one expect those chosen few are able to speak nor even interact with the Supreme Intelligence directly. It is the Cabal of the Superior Intellect the most devoted and wise of in the Scholars teachings that get to ascend to the top of the Xiphos Ziggurat and commune with the Supreme Intellect themselves. The Cabal itself sees to the entirety of running the Xiphos Cult in the name of the Supreme Intellect with their blessing. As its historically noted only on a handful of times has the Supreme Intellect themselves issued a directive down to the masses of followers. This has not changed after seventeen Supreme Intelligences have ascended to the top of Ziggurat to lead the newest generation of the cult to balance and harmony.

The Power of the Past in the Future

As of currently the Xiphos Cult remains strong as ever though cloaked in a shroud of complete mystery and mysticism that outsiders do not understand as they continue to preach the distilled and interpreted texts by the Supreme Intelligence. Many downtrodden and disgusted citizens of the Aphelion System look to the massive arcology that is the Ziggurat with the promise of a new life with blessed teachings in trade for complete fervor and devotion to a man who died in the fires of his planets scouring. They say such enlightenment will lead those who follow such teachings to a more clear purpose in life. As acolytes of the Xiphos spend many hours learning to interpret the teachings of the Supreme Intelligence and Xiphos own scripture. As the Supreme Intelligence themselves continues to delve into the deeper meanings of the Xiphos greatest work he ever contributed to his society in its final hours.   While the Xiphos contribution of art and culture continue along with the advanced medical and access to ancient artifacts dating back to the native people who were in the Aphelion System before the arrival of the Noble Households Arkships. Keep the coffers of the Xiphos well stocked as no one is sure of how wealthy the entirety of the Cult really is. But they do seem to have nearly as much wealth as the Astrika and the Mekkei. Though to what end such supply of credits really mean to the Supreme Intelligence and its mass of followers no one expect them know for sure.
