Septa Sol was born as Septa Arentel, a lowly daughter born of a mercenary and his discarded affair. Left to fend for herself she rose to the attention of a local blademaster who saw her fending off some ruffians in the dark recesses of Brielle. He brought her to the castle and trained her as an elite guard of the prince, a job she kept until Waxwing fell.
