Numenos is a Daskalos, or teacher, from the Lagos Islands - a series of islands far to the southeast of the old Carrylean Empire off the archipelago of Windmere. His studies were in history, though he always maintained an interest in the few ruins to be found on the distant islands of the Known World. Finances for his many interests were supplied by noble families thoughout Windmere who sought his tutelage for their children, his exotic knowledge and presence a boon to their reputations and a potential edge for the next generation of dynastic squabbles.
