The Wandering Moon Hecate

"Little is known about Hecate, the wandering moon that acts as a home for the Hecatean elf witches, who, as we know, are at least as mysterious as their home moon itself. Hecate gets its epithet from the fact that it orbits around the sun in seven year cycles, during which it visits every known planet of the system, getting captured for seven days by the gravitation before continuing towards the next planet. During this seven day period it acts as a second - or in some cases, third - moon for the planet, and on many planets it is believed strange things happen during this seven day visit. Some say, that the children born during when Hecate can be seen in the sky, are destined to become witches themselves, but this phenomenon has yet to be proved."

    Places of Interest

    The Sea of Sorrows

Despite its name, The Sea of Sorrows has nothing to do with water. Instead, it is a barren desert with grey sand dunes as far as the eye can see. It is debated whether this area never was a sea or not.

    The Shadowlands

The dark side of Hecate is known as the Shadowlands, and that is about all that is known about this area. Some believe it holds the secret for the powers of the Hecatean witches, while some warn that it is the lair for dark powers no-one should meddle with.

    The Silver Hills

Once great mountains, nowadays only high hills. Known for the iridescent crystals the Hecatean witches use in their spells.

    The Silent Forest

A great, and only known forest, of Hecate full of trees with weird, white bark and no leaves. It is said that the forest indeed is completely silent, but one should never mistake it being dead.

    The Stone Circle

The Stone Circle, sometimes known as the Crystal Circle, is said to be one of the most magical places on Hecate. It is said to date to the ancient times even before the first witches settled on the moon.

    Settlements

    Lycaste

The capital city of Hecate, housing the royal family of Hecate.

    The Holy City of Lilium

The second largest city of Hecate and the center of the religious life. Build around The Sacred Nymphaea, a spring that has healing properties. In the middle of the spring stand a small island believed to be the resting place of Goddess Nymphaea.

    Calantha

Also called The Last Citadel, a small settlement standing against the Sea of Sorrows.

    Fauna & Flora

    Hecatean Cats

Nowhere else can one find these majestic felines, known for their third eye that can see the world beyond. Few have seen these legendary cats as they rarely leave their home moon. Companions to the witches, never to be confused with pets as that is one of the worst insults one can say to them. The more tails a cat has the more potent its magic is said to be.

    Glass Lilies

Glass lilies are only known to grow in the certain areas of Hecate. This sweet smelling flower is used in the rituals, as well as to broaden one's consciousness. Glass lilies growing around the Sacred Spring Nymphaea are believed to be the most potent ones.

Love the idea of a wandering moon that visits planets. That and your art work really lends itself to an ominous wicca feel. Really well done!
