The Great Shadow War

The Great Shadow War was the collective name given to the conflict between Gu B'omarrin Kashar and Tílunur, including the Five Shadow Wars. The war spanned 1719 years, and involved four countries, two organizations, and millions of people. Many died, and others were grievously wounded.   The war started in 1046, when the brother of the Tílunuren King Kalkork killed his brother and fled into the Lövori Mountains. There, he founded Gu B'omarrin Kashar and built the great fortress of Karazhim. Over the years, many raids, battles, and wars were instigated between Gu B'omarrin Kashar and Tílunur. Neither side was able to destroy the other, until a few key pieces arrived on the scene. Seven of them, to be exact.

History

When Akärof, brother of Kalkork, killed his brother, he was pursued by the newly formed Kasuri Athándr. He managed to evade them, however, and formed Gu B'omarrin Kashar in the depths of the Lövori Mountains. There, they burrowed out the great underground fortress of Karazhim, which means Shadow Cave in Khâzak.   In 1186, the First of the Shadow Wars began, which ended in Gu B'omarrin Kashar's defeat and the death of the Tílunuren leader, Queen Derrita. She was succeeded by her son, Regimal II. An era of peace began with his ascension to the throne. This peace was shattered in 1252, when Gu B'omarrin Kashar started raiding Tílunuren villages, with the help of some hired khud'zarak mercenaries. Queen Anamí I drove them off, suffering immense casualties, both militarily and financially.   Tílunur managed to hold off Gu B'omarrin Kashar for years. Finally, they returned in 2084. This is when the other three countries got involved. Gu B'omarrin Kashar called on Avkazûr, and Tílunur invoked the mutual defense treaty with Mürhôst and Errahôst. The war was long and bloody, Avkazûrian-Kashar forces getting as far as Xankadar before King Fílnûr repulsed them with the help of the Mürhôst-Errahôst forces.   The king appointed several nobles to hunt down and destory the remains of Gu B'omarrin Kashar, but years of waiting had given Gu B'omarrin Kashar deep pockets, and the nobles were corrupted. Tílunur and its allies lived on, secure in the false knowledge of their victory.   When Gu B'omarrin Kashar returned in 2728, they rampaged through Tílunur, killing many, including the Premier Swordsman, Eryk Swiftsword. The new king, Teranik II, drove them back to their mountain stronghold, and there was peace again. And then, finally, thirty-six years later, the seven pieces needed to destroy Gu B'omarrin Kashar came onto the board.   Prince Tywell III was born in 2748, and in 2764, along with his friends Wëls, Anamí, and Triton, met the enigmatic Ralthyr Wazavor. Then, a few months later, Zÿ revealed himself. Together, along with Karya, they formed the Seven Mägari, an extremely powerful magical group who had the power to end The Great Shadow War once and for all. And in 2765, that's exactly what they did.   Gu B'omarrin Kashar invaded again in 2764-2765, this time achieving their goal: they had captured the Castle. Many were taken prisoner, but the Seven Mägari made a daring plan. However, they were caught, and before Tywell's eyes, Korv executed his father, King Teranik II. However, before the sadistic leader of the rebels could do the same with Tywell's oldest brother, Arnmor, Ralthyr, who had been knocked out, arrived, freeing the captives. In a bloody battle, Korv was killed by Ralthyr, and the rest of the rebel organization fled, only to be destroyed a few days later by the pursuing Kasuri Athándr. The Great Shadow War, which spanned 1719 years, killed thousands of people, and decimated Tílunur, had ended.
