The Cult of the Rising Sun
In a way, the highest are the most godless of them all. Who looks down upon the clouds? The Sun. If the Sun so chooses to bless me, who am I to question it? I have the mind and heart of a man, not of a god. The future is unknown to me. -EclipseTo an outside observer, The Rising Sun may seem like a remnant of pre-fracture Christianity. Its worship of an omnipotent higher being that watches over them, a belief in a paradise after death, and its condemnation of things it considers sinful conjure up plenty of images of the once widespread religion. However, according to former members we managed to track down and interview(much to their chagrin), The Rising Sun is quite different. First off, there is no book. Most of their history is kept through oral tradition, or inscribed on their very walls. Second, no one quite knows where they came from. Third, they have one central leader, the Eclipse, who has no record of existence outside of the cult. Fourth, no one is allowed to leave. Lifelong membership is mandatory. If one wishes to leave The Rising Sun, they must cease to exist. Nameless, these people wander the far universe, evading those hunting them. Through unknown means, The Rising Sun somehow always manages to find them. We found our interview contact dead 8 days after we first spoke. -Excerpt from The Breaking Points: An inside look at the structure of Earth's governments.
