Character creation

  • There will be a session zero, bring at least two different character concepts to facilitate a well-rounded party.
  • Game will be played in Roll20 and all characters are made there.
  • All races with an article here on the Sequestered Isle are available as player races. Other races presented, official or home-brewed, may be available through a good backstory and the DM's approval.
  • If there are multiple rule-sets of a singular race, the Sequestered Isle has precedence over all other sources and home-brew rates lowest.
  • Stats are point buy with 35 points instead of 27 as written in PHB.
  • Almost any background will be accepted as long as it has 2 skills and 2 tool proficiencies and/or languages (either 2 tools OR 2 languages OR 1 of each), some sort of thematic ability and some suitable starting equipment.
  • Backgrounds that does not conform to this model are to be adjusted to it, home-brews are allowed with the caveat that the DM has the right to refuse any background that is deemed unsuitable.
  • All printed classes and sub-classes are allowed. Home-brew and Unearthed Arcana may be but needs a case-by-case approval by the DM.
  • All characters receive a bonus feat on level 1, mark it in Roll20 with source: Bonus Campaign Feat.
  • The party will start on Level 3, xp will not be used during play.
  • Hitpoints are rolled but the fixed value for your class is the lowest you can get. I.e. a wizard (1d6 (or 4) + your Constitution) rolls 1d6 but results lower than 4 gives 4 HP for that roll.
  • You get the regular starting equipment as well as 500 gp to spend on any additional equipment. You may opt to not take specific starting gear and instead get the full amount of gold it's worth.
  • In Roll20, use the Features & Traits section to list all abilities from race, class and background. Use source and be specific, i.e. list your race for any racial abilities, list your class for any general class abilities and your sub-class for any specific to that. Note what level you have received an ability that you get more than one (such as feats and ability score increase). When you get an ability that lets you make a choice, mark down what you choose. Check the gallery in this article for an example on how to do this.
  • The current Unearthed Arcana Feats for Skills are available to you: Download here
