By the end of the 21st century, Earth and her colonies were on the brink of societal collapse. In an attempt to preserve human civilization as we knew it, the first extrasolar colonization program was founded: the Odyssey Initiative. Bringing together Humanity’s best and brightest, the expedition was regrettably lost in the outbreak of the Scarcity War, never to be seen again. Forsaken by their homeland, these brave explorers and settlers nevertheless persevered in their original mission, determined to save Mankind from extinction, no matter the cost. Guided by the most powerful AI ever built, they would embark on a millennia-long journey through the depths of space, hoping to awaken with a new place to call home. The survivors would eventually find Elysium, where they set out to rebuild the human race, vowing never to repeat the mistakes of Old Earth.
