Selven Shard

the Selven shard is a mountain in the west covered in a forest near the bottom and snowy peaks near the top. the mountain is said to be a shard from the object that fell long ago splitting the super continent. an elf named Algor a really old elf says that his great grandfather witnessed the shattering of the continent long ago. Algor's ancestors named this shard Selven. Algor believes that this mountain was a shard of the object that split the continent like his ancestors. he has protected the mountain for many years. the shard is said to contain very powerful magic and thieves have tried to take some of the magic for many years. Algor has has told many travelers that pass by about the mountain and many believe him. some so not believe him and say that he is insane or gone mad and made this story up. it is not proven that this story is true and it is called a myth or a legend. Algor plans to protect this mountain until he dies. in recent ideas years people have come by more frequently asking about the mountain and what Algor has to say about it. the mountain is made of strange rock found no where else and that fact helps Algors story. a vast forest covers the base of the mountain until it reaches the snowy peaks. no much is seen in the forest a occasional bear is spotted and the forest is not yet explored. there is a path all the way up to the top of the mountain. a rumor says that at this mountain that a giant rock golem wanders around in the more dense wooded areas and stays away from the path. this is a reason why the forest is not mapped out.
