Fanneci the Fox Myth in The Sagas | World Anvil

Fanneci the Fox

He was here and there or anywhere that he wanted to be for Fanneci knew all the paths of the forest even those that had thought to have been lost say for him and a few others. For he listened to the birds who chatted to one another about what they saw from the sky and watched the bears as they travel from place to place without being seen. It is from them he learned of the paths and he would surely use them to his advantage. - Excerpt from Tales of Fanneci the Fox

Summary

To best understand Fanneci the Fox one must understand what he does. As everyone knows he is a fox as common as they come in fact, he’s not special in any way or magical, just the average fox. But what sets him apart from other foxes is that he is clever, sure most foxes are clever, but he is the craftiest of them all. He knows things that most animals don’t and uses them to his advantage and is known to be a great trickster amongst all the animals. But he never does it for petty reasons and everything he does often is for a reason. Often targeting those who deserve it or those who need it to overcome something. Making him one of the more helpful animals of the forest.   For under that playful nature lies the soul filled with wisdom who has a knack for helping others. Though it might be possible be might enjoy it too much if it gives him a good laugh along the way. He tends to find himself in sticky situations as well when he places he noses where it shouldn’t be. But his wits often help him get out mostly unscathed and live another day. It’s quite the interesting life for someone like that, but to a fox like him it is nothing more than a job that he enjoys for what better way to help others is to lend a hand once in a while.   Many stories have been told about his exploits some small and others complex, but in the end, the fox seems to make things better for those in the forest. Far from most other foxes only seen a troublesome most cases, it just goes to show you that shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Though a fox will always be a fox and that won’t change his nature one bit. All he is doing is using what he was born with for better uses. But just because he was born a certain way doesn’t mean he has to full embrace everything that is suppose to represent and just be himself. He just go his merry little way until he called one more to aid those in need like he always does.
